PREPARATORY DEPARTMENT

At the preparatory department of the South-Ural State Humanitarian Pedagogical University, foreign citizens are taught Russian and prepared for admission to the university.

The cost of studying at the preparatory department:

1 year (01.09.2026 – 31.08.2027): 130,000 RUB.

1.5 years (01.01.2027 – 31.08.2028): 200,000 RUB.

Payment terms for issuing an invitation: 50% prepayment: 65,000 RUB.

The remaining 50%: 65,000 RUB is paid upon arrival in Russia.

Please prepare the payment in advance. We ask you to indicate the preferred duration of the program right away.

Documents required for admission to the preparatory department of SUSHPU:

1. Completed:

• personal details form;
• application for admission to the University;
• personal data agreement;

1. Passport (original + translation into Russian);
2. Education documents (originals + translation of school/college/University certificates of graduation into Russian or into English).

At the end of training at the preparatory department, you receive a certificate of completion of training, which is the basis for visa extension in case of admission to a professional educational program.

BACHELOR'S, MASTER'S AND POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMS

Documents required for admission to bachelor's, master's and postgraduate programs of SUSHPU:

1. Passport;
2. Notarized translation of the passport into Russian;
3. Diploma or certificate of previous training;
4. Notarized translation of a diploma or certificate into Russian;
5. Certificate of medical examination (you have to undergo it on the territory of the Russian Federation);
6. Completed:

• personal details form,
• personal data agreement (for newcomers).

ARRIVAL IN RUSSIA

Visa and visa invitation

The invitation letter from the University is issued to the applicant within a month. After that it is necessary to apply to the relevant consular office of the Russian Federation at the place of your permanent residence in order to get a visa.

Visa and ticket should be sent to the International Affairs Department of SUSHPU in advance, before arrival in Russia. Later the visa may be extended up to 1 year. State fee will be 6 000 RUB.

Medical examination

In accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, foreign citizens are required to undergo a medical examination upon arrival in Russia. The medical examination includes tests for HIV, syphilis, tuberculosis, infectious diseases and drug use. If a foreign citizen fails to undergo a medical examination within the specially allocated time he may be deported from the country and entry to the territory of the Russian Federation will be closed for up to 5 years.

The approximate cost of a medical examination is 10 000 RUB.

Medical insurance

One of the necessary documents for foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation is also health insurance. It will be useful for foreigners in the event of illness on the territory of the Russian Federation and when undergoing a medical examination.

The cost of health insurance varies depending on the region of residence. The average cost is 6,500 rubles. You can arrange it after arriving in Russia.

Accommodation in a dormitory:

Surgut State Pedagogical University has two dormitories for the accommodation of foreign citizens in the city centre.

Payment for accommodation in the dormitory is made in one lump sum for the entire period of study:

• for a 1‑year programme (01.09.2026–31.08.2027) — 24,000 rubles;
• for a 1‑year 8‑month programme (01.01.2027–31.08.2028) — 36,000 rubles.

In addition, students of South-Ural State Humanitarian Pedagogical University can stay at the world‑class Inter‑University Campus.

The cost of accommodation is approximately 10,000 rubles per month.

*The university allows foreign students to live not only in dormitories but also in rented apartments (the apartment must be located only in Chelyabinsk). In this case, it is important that the apartment owner register the foreign citizen at the place of residence. Failure to register is a violation of Russian law and entails administrative liability.

Mandatory procedures upon arrival in the Russian Federation:

• Medical examination — 10,000 rubles;
• Dactyloscopy (fingerprinting, Green Card) — 2,000 rubles.
• Medical insurance — about 6,500 rubles.

*The specified expenses are paid by the applicant themselves.
